From October 21st to 22nd during the CHINA MINING Congress and Expo 2014, Mr. Wang Min, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Land and Resources, PRC, and Mr. Zhong Ziran, Director of the China Geological Survey, respectively met with the foreign guests attending the CHINA MINING, and they had talks and exchanges about the further enhancement of cooperation between the Ministry of Land and Resources, China Geological Survey and the geology and mining of the national and international mineral organizations, and signed cooperative agreements with mineral departments of some countries.
Mr. Wang Min met with H.E. Mr. Ngoako Ramatlhodi, Minister of Department of Mineral Resources of the Republic of South Africa, The Hon. Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Sadig Elkarouri, Minister of Minerals of the Republic of Sudan, The Hon. Mr. Walter K Chidakwa, Minister of Ministry of Mines and Mining Development of Zimbabwe, The Hon. Mr. Jorge Omar Mayoral, Secretary of Argentina Mining and Mr. Tom Butler, Manager of Mining & Global Infrastructure of International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Mr. Zhong Ziran met with The Hon. Mr. Imran Khan, General Director of Geological Survey of Pakistan, The Hon. Mr. Jumaev Murod, Director of Department of Geological Survey of Tajikistan, The Hon. Mr. Slawomir Brodziński, Chief Engineer of Ministry of Environment of Poland, The Hon. Mr. Brian Gray, Assistant Deputy Minister of Natural Resources Ministry of Canada, The Hon. Mr. Patrick O. Omuta, Principal Secretary of Ministry of Mining of Kenya, The Hon. Mr. Mario Alfonso Cantú, General Coordinator of Mining of Mexico and Mr. Roland Oberhänsli, President of International Union of Geological Sciences.
During the meeting, Mr. Wang Min and Mr. Zhong Ziran extended warm welcome to every guest and delegation for their participating in CHINA MINING on behalf of the Ministry of Land and Resources. They said that in recent years, the Ministry of Land and Resources, PRC and China Geological Survey have had close and frequent exchanges with the mineral departments of various countries, and have constantly deepened the cooperation. China hopes that on the basis of the signed cooperative agreements, mineral departments of China and various countries can enhance their information sharing and project cooperation, and deepen the cooperative research in earth science, strengthen the geological cooperation, support the investment, boost the exchange among science and technology talents and continuously expand the fields of cooperation. Foreign mining ministers and guests thanked China for its invitation and support during the meeting, and wished to enhance cooperation and exchange with the Ministry of Land and Resources, PRC and China Geological Survey.
The meeting witnessed the participating of the leading officials of departments and bureaus and directly affiliated intuitions under the Ministry of Land and Resources and the China Geological Survey, and the chargers of some mineral enterprises in China, and foreign delegations.
